Utah Civil Rights Complaint is a written document that is filed with the Utah Antidiscrimination and Labor Division (BALD) to report a violation of an individual's civil rights. This complaint is used to register a claim of discrimination based on race, color, national origin, sex, age, disability, pregnancy, marital status, religion, and genetic information. The complaint must be filed within 180 days of the alleged violation. There are two types of Utah Civil Rights Complaints: administrative and judicial. The administrative complaint is filed with the BALD and the judicial complaint is filed with the appropriate court. The BALD will investigate the administrative complaint and, if necessary, refer the complaint to the court.
