Utah Possession with Intent to Distribute (PAID) is a criminal offense that occurs when a person knowingly possesses a controlled substance with the intent to distribute it to another person. Different types of Utah PAID include possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute it, possession of a controlled substance with intent to manufacture, or possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute in a school zone. Possession with intent to distribute can include possession of drugs such as marijuana, cocaine, heroin, and methamphetamine. A person convicted of Utah PAID may face felony charges and a lengthy prison sentence. Additionally, the person may be required to pay a fine, be placed on probation, and have their driver’s license suspended.
