18 U.S.C. 2251© Sexual Exploitation of Child—- Conduct Outside the United States is a federal law that prohibits any person from traveling in foreign commerce, or attempting to do so, for the purpose of engaging in any sexual act with a minor that would be illegal if done within the United States. This includes receiving any visual image, video, or other depictions of minors engaged in any sexually explicit conduct. This law also applies to any American citizen or national who travels outside the United States to engage in any sexual act with a minor.
