Contract Talent

A talent release form is a simple legal document that is designed to prevent you from getting sued for the unauthorized use of someone's image or voice. A talent release may be part of a more comprehensive contract, or it may be a separate document.

The artist/artwork release form is a document that shall also serve as a receipt from an artist to a buyer with regard to any type of art. Whatever the negotiated arrangement between the artist and the buyer, the form will clearly indicate that the artist has been satisfactorily compensated for the piece.

What are release forms? As the photo at the top of this post so snarkily illustrates, release forms are essentially pieces of paper that serve to legally cover your butt. By signing a general talent release form, the signer: Waives their right to approve or disapprove of the finished product.

What permission does a talent release provide and when should it be obtained? A document that gives video producers permission to photograph the talent and/or to use audio of the talents voice and whenever producing something huge that could be seen and heard by everyone.

The standard talent release form is designed for the purpose of an individual to grant full permission to have images of their likeness and the sound of their voice to be recorded on audio or video and used at the user's discretion and without payment, other compensation or legal repercussion to the grantee.

A talent agreement is a document used when an individual (''Performer'') is hired to represent or work for an individual or company.The document may include a payment schedule for royalties to be paid, territory where the agreement applies, and the parties' rights to termination.

Identify the releasor. Describe the photo, image, likeness, or video. Address any payment the model receives for the release. Address royalties. Address whether the model has the ability to revoke their authorization. The parties sign and date the release.

Standard Releases and Volunteer Acknowledgment. Standard standard releases and the standard volunteer acknowledgment are documents that have been approved for use by the President, appropriate Vice President, and the Office of the General Counsel.
