False Declaration Before Grand Jury or Court is a criminal offense in which a person deliberately makes a false statement or provides false information when testifying before a grand jury or court. This offense is a felony and is punishable by up to five years in prison, a fine of up to $250,000, or both. There are two types of false declaration before a grand jury or court: perjury and subornation of perjury. Perjury is the intentional act of making false statements under oath or affirmation, while subornation of perjury is the intentional inducement of another person to make false statements under oath or affirmation.
