Tennessee Cost is a comprehensive cost of attendance (COA) budget developed by the University of Tennessee and used by financial aid offices to determine the amount of aid a student is eligible to receive. It includes tuition and fees, room and board, books and supplies, transportation, and personal and miscellaneous expenses. Tennessee Cost is calculated every year and includes both in-state and out-of-state tuition rates. There are three types of Tennessee Cost: the Standard Cost, the Expected Cost, and the Maximum Cost. The Standard Cost is the university's estimate of the average amount of money it will cost a student to attend school for an academic year. The Expected Cost is the amount of money the university expects a student to pay for the academic year. The Maximum Cost is the most a student should expect to pay for the academic year.
