South Carolina NRC Notice is a document issued by the South Carolina Department of Revenue that informs business owners of their responsibility to collect, report, and remit sales and use tax. This notice outlines the requirements of the South Carolina Nonresident Vendor Certification Program, which requires out-of-state sellers to register with the Department of Revenue, collect and remit sales and use tax on their sales in South Carolina, and file returns in a timely manner. There are three types of South Carolina NRC Notice: (1) Initial Notice, (2) Renewal Notice, and (3) Termination Notice. The Initial Notice is sent to new nonresident vendors, the Renewal Notice is sent to vendors prior to the expiration date of their certificate, and the Termination Notice is sent to vendors when their certificate has expired or been revoked.
