South Carolina ENDANGERING LIFE WHILE MANUFACTURING CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE refers to the criminal offense of manufacturing or attempting to manufacture an illicit controlled substance in South Carolina with an indifference for the safety of human life. This offense is considered a felony in the state and carries a potential penalty of up to 10 years in prison and/or a fine of up to $10,000. Types of controlled substances that this offense applies to include narcotics, hallucinogens, stimulants, depressants, and anabolic steroids. The offense also applies to the manufacture of controlled substances by chemical synthesis or extraction methods.
