A Rhode Island Statement of Change of Agent is a legal document required by the Rhode Island Secretary of State when appointing a new registered agent or changing the registered agent for a business entity. The Statement must be signed by an authorized person and submitted to the Rhode Island Secretary of State for processing. There are two types of Rhode Island Statement of Change of Agent: the Statement of Change of Registered Agent and the Statement of Change of Resident Agent. The Statement of Change of Registered Agent is used when an entity is changing the registered agent from one to another. The Statement of Change of Resident Agent is used when an entity is changing the resident agent from one to another. Both forms require the business name, the current registered agent's information, the new agent's information, and the authorized person's information.
