Pennsylvania Criminal Record/Abuse History Verification is a process by which a person or employer can check and verify a person's criminal record and abuse history in the state of Pennsylvania. This process is used to ensure that the person being hired or considered for any role is not a risk to the public or to the business. There are two types of Pennsylvania Criminal Record/Abuse History Verification: a criminal background check and an abuse history clearance. The criminal background check is conducted with the Pennsylvania State Police and provides information about any prior criminal convictions in the state of Pennsylvania. The abuse history clearance is conducted with the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services and provides information about any prior reports of abuse, neglect, or exploitation.
