Oklahoma Pro HAC Vice is a legal procedure which allows lawyers who are not licensed to practice law in Oklahoma to appear in Oklahoma courts on a case-by-case basis. It is an exception to the general rule that a lawyer must be licensed to practice in the state in order to appear in court. Oklahoma Pro HAC Vice is typically sought by out-of-state attorneys who have clients in Oklahoma or who need to appear in an Oklahoma court on behalf of their clients. There are two types of Oklahoma Pro HAC Vice: Direct Pro HAC Vice and Consent Pro HAC Vice. Direct Pro HAC Vice is a procedure in which an out-of-state attorney is granted permission to appear in an Oklahoma court on a case-by-case basis, without the need to be sponsored by an Oklahoma-licensed attorney. Consent Pro HAC Vice is a procedure in which an out-of-state attorney is granted permission to appear in an Oklahoma court on a case-by-case basis, but must be sponsored by an Oklahoma-licensed attorney.
