Nevada G-9 Six Month Informal Temporary Guardianship is a legal arrangement in which a person (the “temporary guardian”) assumes legal responsibility for another person (the “ward”) for a period of six months. This type of guardianship is used when a parent or legal guardian is unable or unwilling to provide care or make decisions for the ward due to illness, death, incarceration, or other circumstances. The temporary guardian is responsible for providing housing, food, clothing, medical care, and education for the ward during the six-month period. The temporary guardian can also make decisions about the ward’s care, such as enrolling them in school, obtaining medical care, and seeking counseling. The temporary guardian is also responsible for preparing a report to the court at the end of the six-month period. There are two types of Nevada G-9 Six Month Informal Temporary Guardianship: a full guardianship, which covers all aspects of a child's care, and a limited guardianship, which covers specific areas of care, such as medical decisions.
