New Jersey Non-Resident Tax Form is a tax filing form required by the state of New Jersey for individuals who are not full-time residents of the state. The purpose of the form is to collect income tax from non-residents on income earned in New Jersey. There are two types of New Jersey Non-Resident Tax Form: Form NJ-1040NR and Form NJ-1040NR-H. Form NJ-1040NR is used for individuals who have earned income from wages, salaries, tips, or other compensation during the tax year, as well as income from certain business activities. Form NJ-1040NR-H is used for individuals who own rental properties or have other business activities in New Jersey but are not full-time residents of the state. Both forms require the taxpayer to provide personal information, such as name, address, and Social Security Number; a list of income sources; and the amount of income earned in New Jersey. The form also requires the taxpayer to calculate their total tax liability and submit any applicable payment.
