The New Hampshire IEA Petition is a petition that was created to provide New Hampshire students with the right to an equal, equitable, and quality education. It was initiated by the New Hampshire Education Association (NEA) in order to ensure that all students in New Hampshire have access to a high-quality education regardless of their family’s socio-economic status. This petition calls for the adoption of a number of educational policies and reforms that are intended to improve the quality of education in the state. These include equitable funding for all public schools, increased support for educators and students, and the implementation of effective teaching and learning strategies. There are two types of New Hampshire IEA Petition: The first type is the original petition, which was drafted in 2019 and calls for the adoption of the aforementioned educational reforms. The second type is the “Comprehensive Equity and Inclusion Plan” petition, which was created a year later and focuses on creating a more equitable educational system in the state by addressing issues such as racial equity, gender equity, language access, and access to special education services.
