North Dakota CERTIFICATE of AUTHORITY FOREIGN COOPERATIVE APPLICATION is an application filed with the North Dakota Secretary of State to register a foreign cooperative business in the state. It is required by the North Dakota Business Corporation Act for a foreign cooperative to obtain a Certificate of Authority to do business in the state. This application must be accompanied by a document providing evidence of the cooperative’s existence in its state of origin and an application fee. There are two types of North Dakota CERTIFICATE of AUTHORITY FOREIGN COOPERATIVE APPLICATION: (1) Initial Application, which must be filed when applying for a Certificate of Authority to do business in the state, and (2) Renewal Application, which must be filed annually to maintain the Certificate of Authority. Both of these applications require the same documentation, including the application fee. The North Dakota CERTIFICATE of AUTHORITY FOREIGN COOPERATIVE APPLICATION must be approved by the North Dakota Secretary of State before a foreign cooperative can begin doing business in the state.
