A CJA Travel Notice is an official document issued by the United States Department of Justice, Criminal Division, authorizing a government attorney to travel out of the district to perform official duties on behalf of the United States. CJA Travel Notices are issued to government attorneys who are assigned to Criminal Justice Act (CJA) cases that require out-of-district travel. There are two types of CJA Travel Notices: CJA Travel Notices for government attorneys assigned to CJA cases in multiple districts, and CJA Travel Notices for government attorneys assigned to CJA cases in a single district. The CJA Travel Notice includes the name of the government attorney, the case name and number, the dates and locations of travel, the purpose of the travel, and the estimated cost of the travel.
