North Carolina Notice of Special Appearance is a legal document filed in North Carolina courts which provides that the person filing the notice is appearing specifically for the purpose of challenging the court’s jurisdiction over them. The Notice must be filed before any other pleadings in the case, and must be served on all parties. There are two types of North Carolina Notice of Special Appearance: general and limited. A general Notice of Special Appearance challenges the court's jurisdiction over the person's entire case. A limited Notice of Special Appearance challenges the court's jurisdiction in a limited way, such as challenging the jurisdiction over a specific issue in the case.
