The Missouri Commission To Take Deposition(s) of Witness(BS) is a procedure established by the state of Missouri for taking the sworn deposition(s) of witness(BS) in civil, criminal, and administrative cases. In a deposition, the witness provides testimony about a case, which is then transcribed by a court reporter and may be used as evidence in trial. The Missouri Commission To Take Deposition(s) of Witness(BS) includes two types of depositions: • Oral Depositions: These are conducted in-person or via video conference or telephone. In an Oral Deposition, the witness is sworn in and questioned by the opposing parties, under oath and in the presence of a court reporter. • Written Depositions: Written Depositions are taken when an Oral Deposition is not possible or when the witness is unable to attend in person. In a Written Deposition, the witness is asked to answer written questions submitted by the opposing parties. The witness is asked to sign and return the answers, under oath.
