Minnesota Medical Request (MMR) is an electronic health records system that allows healthcare providers in Minnesota to request, receive and store patient health information. It is a secure web-based system that enables healthcare organizations to share and access patient medical records electronically, from any location. MMR includes three components: an electronic patient health record, a secure messaging system, and a patient portal. The electronic patient health record allows healthcare providers to access and store patient data such as diagnoses, lab results, allergies, immunizations, and medications. The secure messaging system enables healthcare providers to communicate with each other electronically, while the patient portal allows patients to access their records and communicate with their healthcare providers. MMR is designed to improve patient care and reduce administrative costs associated with managing patient records.
