Michigan Democratic Delegate Candidates are individuals who are registered members of the Democratic Party in the state of Michigan and have been selected to represent the party in national political conventions, such as the Democratic National Convention (DNC). There are two categories of Michigan Democratic Delegate Candidates: pledged delegates and unfledged delegates. Pledged delegates are selected by Democratic voters in Michigan’s congressional districts during the state’s primary election and are legally required to vote for the Democratic presidential candidate who won their district. Unfledged delegates, also known as superdelegates, are party leaders and elected officials who are free to vote for any Democratic presidential candidate at the DNC.
