Description

This form is a Renunciation and Disclaimer of a Joint Tenant Interest in Property. Upon the death of the decedent, the surviving joint tenant gained an interest in the decedent's property. However, pursuant to the Maine Statutes, Part 10, Art. II, the beneficiary has chosen to renounce his/her entire interest in the jointly held property. The beneficiary attests that the disclaimer will be filed no later than nine months after the death of the decedent in order to secure the validity of the disclaimer. The form also contains a state specific acknowledgment and a certificate to verify delivery.
