A Maryland Petition for Contempt — Failure to Pay Child Support is a legal document used by an individual to bring a court case against someone who has not paid them child support. The individual must be able to prove that the other party has failed to meet their legal obligation to financially support the child, and that they have been harmed as a result. The Petitioner can request that the court order the other party to pay the past-due child support, as well as any other financial obligations related to raising the child. There are two types of Maryland Petition for Contempt — Failure to Pay Child Support: Contempt of Order or Decree for Child Support and Contempt of Order or Decree for Alimony.
