A Kentucky Judgment in an Adversary Proceeding is the final ruling in a lawsuit in a Kentucky court. This judgment is based on the evidence and arguments presented during the trial. There are two types of judgments in Kentucky: 1) a default judgment, which is issued if the defendant fails to appear in court or fails to answer the complaint; and 2) a judgment on the merits, which is issued after the court has heard the evidence and arguments from both parties. In both cases, the court will issue a written ruling that spells out the rights and obligations of the parties and the final resolution of the dispute. The judgment may include an award of damages, an injunction, or some other form of relief.
