Illinois Reassignment Order is an order issued by a court in the state of Illinois that grants an individual the right to have their name changed. This document is legally binding and allows an individual to change their first name, middle name, and/or last name without having to go through the full court process. There are three types of Illinois Reassignment Order: Adult Reassignment Order, Minor Reassignment Order, and Gender Reassignment Order. An Adult Reassignment Order is available to individuals over the age of 18 or emancipated minors. A Minor Reassignment Order is available to individuals under the age of 18 who have a parent or guardian willing to sign the order. A Gender Reassignment Order is available to individuals who are transitioning from one gender to another.
