Idaho Letters of Guardianship are legal documents issued by a court in the state of Idaho granting an adult the authority to act as a guardian for a minor or an incapacitated adult. The guardian is responsible for making decisions on behalf of the ward, such as providing for their care, managing their finances, and ensuring their safety. There are two types of Idaho Letters of Guardianship: a general guardianship and a limited guardianship. A general guardianship grants the guardian full decision-making power over the ward, while a limited guardianship only grants the guardian certain powers. Both types of guardianship require court approval and must be renewed annually.
