The Iowa Informal Assessment Review Period from April 2 – April 252018,18 is a time for schools to review student performance on assessments and make changes to the assessments in order to improve student learning. During this review period, schools are encouraged to use data from state and local assessments to analyze and review student performance, identify areas of need, and make changes to assessments to improve student learning. The review period includes three types of activities: assessment review, data analysis, and assessment modification. Assessment review typically involves reviewing the content and structure of an assessment to ensure that it is aligned with state standards and accurately measures student performance. Data analysis involves examining student performance data to identify areas of need. Finally, assessment modification involves changing the content and/or structure of an assessment to ensure that it is appropriate for student learning.
