Iowa Release and Satisfaction of Judgment is a document filed with the court to release a judgment lien or to release a debtor from a judgment. The document is signed by the creditor and filed with the clerk of the court, after which the creditor is no longer entitled to enforcement of the judgment and the debtor is released from the judgment. There are two types of Iowa Release and Satisfaction of Judgment documents: Full Release and Partial Release. A Full Release is used when the full amount of the judgment is paid in full and the creditor releases all rights to the judgment. A Partial Release is used when the creditor is willing to accept a lesser amount of payment and releases only the portion of the judgment that is paid.
