Georgia Packet for Regular Garnishment is a set of documents used for wage garnishment in the State of Georgia. These documents are used by employers to withhold wages from an employee’s paycheck to pay a debt owed to a creditor. The packet includes a Writ of Garnishment, an Order of Garnishment, an Employee’s Answer form, and an Employee’s Rights form. The Writ of Garnishment is issued by the court to the employer to initiate garnishment of wages. The Order of Garnishment is issued by the court to the employer with instructions to deduct a specific amount from the employee’s wages. The Employee’s Answer form is used by the employee to dispute the garnishment amount or to provide additional information regarding the debt. The Employee’s Rights form informs the employee of their rights regarding wage garnishment. There are two types of Georgia Packet for Regular Garnishment: one for consumer debts and one for child support.
