District of Columbia SCR Rule 9-I verification-for Small Claims is a legal document that is required to be completed by a plaintiff in order to prove that the opposing party was properly served with the complaint. The verification must include the name of the opposing party, the address of service, the date of service, the method of service, and a statement that the facts in the complaint are true and correct. There are two types of District of Columbia SCR Rule 9-I verification-for Small Claims: personal service and substituted service. Personal service verification is when the complaint is served in person to the opposing party. Substituted service verification is when the complaint is served to a third party, such as a family member, and the third party is responsible for delivering the complaint to the opposing party.
