Alabama Consent Order Lifting Automatic Stay (ALCOA) is an order from the court that permits a debtor, who has previously filed for bankruptcy protection, to resume activities that had been prohibited by the automatic stay. The ALCOA is issued when the court is satisfied that the debtor’s reorganization plan or other resolution of the bankruptcy proceedings is viable and in the best interests of all parties involved. There are two types of Alabama Consent Order Lifting Automatic Stay: General Consent Order and Limited Consent Order. A General Consent Order allows the debtor to resume all activities that were prohibited by the automatic stay, whereas a Limited Consent Order only lifts the automatic stay for specific activities, as determined by the court.
