An Alaska Amended Certificate of Authority (Foreign Nonprofit Corporation) is a document issued by the Alaska Division of Corporations, Business, and Professional Licensing that grants a foreign nonprofit corporation the authority to transact business in the state of Alaska. This document must be filed with the Division before a foreign nonprofit corporation can conduct activities such as opening a bank account, contracting with vendors, and hiring employees in the state of Alaska. There are two types of Alaska Amended Certificates of Authority available — one for foreign nonprofit corporations that are registered in the state of Alaska and one for foreign nonprofit corporations that are not registered in the state of Alaska. Both documents must be filed with the Division and approved before a foreign nonprofit corporation can transact business in the state of Alaska.
