The Alaska Notice of Registration of Foreign Support Order is a document that is used to enforce a foreign support order in Alaska. This document is typically used when a custodial parent or guardian has obtained a support order from a foreign court, and wishes to enforce it in Alaska. The Notice of Registration is filed with the Alaska Court System, which in turn issues a new support order that is enforceable in Alaska. There are two types of Alaska Notice of Registration of Foreign Support Order: 1) reciprocity registration, and 2) non-reciprocity registration. Reciprocity registration requires that the foreign support order be substantially similar to the laws in Alaska. Non-reciprocity registration requires that the foreign support order be registered with the Alaska Court System, even if the order does not comply with Alaska law.
