A Massachusetts Case Management Conference (CMC) Request for is a document that is filed by a party in a Massachusetts lawsuit. It is used to request a hearing before a judge or magistrate to discuss the progress of a case and to set a schedule for future proceedings. In some cases, the request is also used to request a change in the court's rules or a stay of the case. There are two types of CMC Requests in Massachusetts: an ex parte request and a contested request. An ex parte request is filed when the party requesting the CMC does not anticipate the other side objecting. A contested request is filed when the other side is likely to object and requires the court to hold a hearing to determine whether to grant the CMC.
