Being part of the National Merit Scholarship Program justifiably is a point of great pride. It means you have scored in the top 1 percentile of test takers nationwide.
All Bahamas Merit Scholarship The award includes tuition fees, room and board, one round trip ticket, clothing and a personal and book allowance. The total award is not to exceed $25,000.00 per annum. The recipient must maintain a 3.25 GPA for the first year and a minimum GPA of 3.50 for subsequent years.
The National Tuition Assistance is awarded annually to Bahamian students and is intended to assist high school graduates and persons who are pursuing professional, technical, graduate or post graduate studies.
Some scholarship committees only consider applicants whose GPA meets a certain threshold. Minimum requirements range from around 2.0 on the lower end to 3.75 or higher for competitive academic scholarships. Generally speaking, a 3.0 GPA or higher will give you a decent shot at qualifying for a variety of scholarships.
