For most students, you need to tell us you're graduating. Then we do our part: we'll package everything together to confer your certificate|degree to make it all official. This is called the "Petition to Graduate" process. For some students earning certificates this process is automatic.
Petition for Degree / Certificate Under Student Quick Links, select "Apply to Graduate." Students may complete a "Petition for Degree / Certificate" at any of our Student Enrollment and Services offices or you can download a form from the Admission Forms section of our web site.
Note that to order official transcripts, students will need to order through a third party called Parchment. You can navigate to the Parchment website through the Collin website.
Applying for Graduation To access the application, students should log in to CougarWeb and select "Apply to Graduate" under the Student Quick Links section. Upon submission of the form a confirmation page will be displayed and students will receive communication regarding graduation via their CougarMail account.
Students receiving a grade of 'F' may repeat the course with benefits one time. If it is necessary to repeat the course a third time, the student must first successfully complete the course and then request the Collin College Financial Aid/Veterans Affairs Office complete the certification.
Students 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or equivalent are eligible for admission. Visit the Admissions and Records Office website at llin/register/ or call 972.881. 5710 for more information.
In a graduation ceremony for a college or university, the presiding officer or other authorized person formally confers degrees upon candidates, either individually or en masse. However, some graduates may physically receive their diploma later at a smaller college or departmental ceremonies, or even through the mail.
What is the refund policy? To receive a 100 percent credit of tuition and fees, you must drop your class before the first day of the term or part-of-term for your class. As of the first day of the term or part-of-term, partial refund deadlines begin.
