How the Process Works. Property owners, representatives or contractors must file any necessary permits in the municipality where the work is being performed.FLOOR PLANS: To include location and sizes of all doors, windows, closets, decks, plumbing fixtures, wall and column sizes, thickness and material. Compliance with those regulations begins with submitting building plans from a contractor or the building owner. More details can be found on the form below. Building plans may be waived at the discretion of the Building. Official if work is minor in nature. Plans must be drawn on paper - transparencies (mylars) of plans are not accepted.
