Per Florida law, failure to apply for the homestead exemption on or before March 1 constitutes a waiver of the exemption privilege for that year. A $25,000 exemption is applied to the first $50,000 of your property's assessed value. This exemption applies to all taxes, including school district taxes.
First-time Homestead Exemption applicants and persons applying for the Homestead Assessment Difference (Portability) can file online.
You can apply by using the Homestead Exemption application on the Philadelphia Tax Center. You don't need to create a username and password to submit your application online. If a previous owner is listed, call (215) 686-9200 or submit a paper application instead.
