Pleading Paper Your name must start on line 1. The Court name and location must start on line 8. The caption of the case must start on line 11. You must have a footer with the title of the document. Spacing and numbering of lines. The spacing and numbering of lines on a page must be as follows: (1) The lines on each page must be one and one-half spaced or double-spaced and numbered consecutively.
The left margin of each page must be at least one inch from the left edge and the right margin at least 1/2 inch from the right edge. Rule 2.107 amended effective January 1, 2016; adopted effective January 1, 2007.
(6) The margins must be at least 11/2 inches on the left and right and 1 inch on the top and bottom.

“Pleading paper” is the format required for filing documents in court when there is no pre-printed form available. This pleading paper is blank and can be used anywhere 28-line paper is accepted. A pleading must be in writing and must be signed by all persons joining in it. All pleadings filed in proceedings under the Probate Code must be verified. If two or more persons join in a pleading, it may be verified by any of them.
The body of the text must be double spaced with a minimum distance of 7/32 of an inch (0.5556 cm.) between each line of text. Footnotes and long, indented quotations may be single spaced, but must be in type that is 12-point or larger in height, with at least 1/16 of an inch (0.158 cm.) between each line of text.
