This document outlines the terms of a model public charitable trust deed. It establishes the settlor, trustees, name and location of the trust. Most organizations that hold charitable assets in Michigan must be registered with the Charitable Trust Section. As mentioned above, the Michigan Trust Code has multiple provisions to modify a trust instrument, based on the Uniform Trust Code. A land trust takes ownership or authority over a property at the request of its owner, often for tax and privacy purposes but with possible downsides.
