A student's legal name cannot be changed without an official request from that student. No second-party notification of a legal name change is accepted. To change their name on official University records, a student must submit a Legal Name Change or Correction request.

Applying for Graduation To access the application, students should log in to CougarWeb and select "Apply to Graduate" under the Student Quick Links section. Upon submission of the form a confirmation page will be displayed and students will receive communication regarding graduation via their CougarMail account.
If you want to change your name on your college diploma, you must notify the registrar's office. The registrar will send you a new diploma within six weeks. You may need to fax your documents or visit in person to change your name. The registrar will verify that your name is correct before issuing the new diploma.
