Applicants with transcripts from an international institution (non-U.S. university, college, or school) must submit a World Education Services (WES) ICAP Course-by-Course evaluation of academic records from institutions outside the U.S. and English-speaking Canada (if applicable).
Oakland University will only accept transcript evaluations completed by a current member of NACES. Most students choose World Education Services, Educational Credential Evaluators or SpanTran. Course-by-course (or detailed) evaluations are required.
Around 2,500+ institutions work with WES in the U.S. and Canada, to vet international applicants based on their standardized college scores… But even among those institutions, only some specific courses and colleges require a WES evaluation report.
All admitted applicants who have earned a degree(s) from an institution(s) outside of the United States are required to complete and submit a WES Course-by-Course ICAP evaluation that includes all post-secondary study. All degrees reported on your application must be finalized before proceeding with the evaluation.
Generally, first-year student admission to Oakland University is based on a combination of criteria: A completed Oakland University admission application. While an essay is optional, interested students may choose to include an essay for consideration. Cumulative high school grade point averages of 3.2 or above.
