The Due Process Clause provides that no states shall deprive any "person" of "life, liberty or property" without due process of law. There are very strong arguments that the debt ceiling violates the Fourteenth Amendment.First, the threat of federal debt repudiation at the time of the ratification of the Fourteenth Amendment was particularized and well defined.
