Anybody can write a contract; in fact it doesn't need to be written at all. A contract can be verbal or even just implied by the actions of the parties.
Write the contract in six steps Start with a contract template. Open with the basic information. Describe in detail what you have agreed to. Include a description of how the contract will be ended. Write into the contract which laws apply and how disputes will be resolved. Include space for signatures.
However, the do-it-yourself approach is perfectly acceptable and just as legally enforceable. Once you have both agreed on the terms, you may want to have the personal loan contract notarized or ask a third party to act as a witness during the signing.
You can either use a template, write the agreement from scratch, or ask a solicitor to draft a personal loan agreement for you. If you choose to draft your own agreement, it should include all the information you have gathered like the loan amount, repayment terms, interest rate, and default terms.
