Wisconsin Order for Special Administration (Formal Administration) is a court order issued by a probate court in Wisconsin to appoint an administrator to manage the assets, debts, and liabilities of an individual who has passed away. This order is usually issued when there is no Will or when the Will does not appoint an executor. The court will appoint a qualified and impartial person to act as the administrator and to manage the deceased’s assets. The administrator is responsible for locating, identifying, and collecting the assets; notifying creditors; paying the debts, expenses, and taxes; and distributing the remaining assets in accordance with the law and the provisions of the Will, if any. There are two types of Wisconsin Order for Special Administration: 1. Small Estate: This type of order is used when the estate is valued at $50,000 or less and there is no real estate. 2. Regular Administration: This type of order is used when the estate is greater than $50,000 or when there is real estate.
