A Washington Summary Judgment Order (Parentage) is a legal document issued by a court in the State of Washington that determines the legal parentage of a child. It is typically used when a parent is seeking to have his or her name placed on a child's birth certificate, or when a parent wishes to establish or challenge the legal parentage of a child. There are two types of Washington Summary Judgment Order (Parentage): a Parentage Order and a Parentage Determination. A Parentage Order establishes the legal parentage of a child, while a Parentage Determination determines whether one or more individuals have a legal relationship to a child. Both types of orders may be obtained by filing a petition in Washington state court.
