Washington Motion and Declaration for Order to Release Weapons (MTA) is a court order, issued by the Washington State Superior Court, which authorizes the release of weapons that have been seized in connection with a criminal investigation. The order is based on the Washington State Uniform Firearms Act and is used to transfer ownership of the seized weapons from the government to a third party. The third party must be approved by the court, and must possess a valid license to possess firearms. The order requires the third party to sign a document indicating that they have received the weapons, and that they understand that they are responsible for the safe storage and handling of the weapons. There are two types of Washington Motion and Declaration for Order to Release Weapons (MTA): the “Release of Firearms” and the “Release of Weapons.” The “Release of Firearms” order is used when the weapons are handguns, rifles, shotguns, or any other type of firearm. The “Release of Weapons” order is used when the weapons are not firearms, such as knives, stun guns, or other weapons.
