Washington Annual Notice of Claim of Exemption (Franchise) is a form filed by a business operating within the state of Washington to notify the state government of its intention to be taxed as a franchise. The form is to be filed annually in order to maintain the franchise exemption status. There are two types of Washington Annual Notice of Claim of Exemption (Franchise): Franchise Tax Exemption and Business & Occupation (B&O) Tax Exemption. The Franchise Tax Exemption is available to corporations, limited liability companies, limited partnerships, and other qualifying entities that meet certain requirements. The Business & Occupation (B&O) Tax Exemption is available to businesses that qualify as a franchise under Washington state law.
