Vermont OCS Parentage Complaint: Establishment of Parentage is a legal process used to establish a parent-child relationship between an individual and a child or children when the parent's identity is unknown. This process is utilized by the Vermont Office of Child Support (VOWS) to establish the legal right of a parent to have a legal relationship with a child. This process is used to determine the legal parentage of a child for the purposes of child support, inheritance, and other legal rights. There are two types of Vermont OCS Parentage Complaint: Establishment of Parentage: Voluntary Acknowledgement of Parentage and Judicial Establishing of Parentage. Voluntary Acknowledgement of Parentage is a document signed by both the mother and father voluntarily acknowledging their parentage of the child.
