Virginia Assignment of Trademark or Service Mark Registration is a legal document used in the Commonwealth of Virginia to transfer ownership of a trademark or service mark from one party to another. Trademarks and service marks can be registered with the Virginia State Corporation Commission (SCC) and transferred through an assignment. In Virginia, a trademark or service mark assignment must be in writing and signed by the party transferring the rights. There are two types of Virginia Assignment of Trademark or Service Mark Registration: General Assignments and Assignments of Rights in Particular Marks. A General Assignment transfers all rights in a trademark or service mark from one party to another. An Assignment of Rights in Particular Marks transfers only specific rights in a trademark or service mark from one party to another.
