The Virginia Fingerprint Checklist is a document provided by the Virginia State Police in order to initiate criminal history background checks. The document serves as a request form, which the user must fill out and submit along with their fingerprints. The fingerprint checklists are used to verify the identity of an individual, and to confirm the accuracy of their criminal background information. There are three types of Virginia Fingerprint Checklists available: the Applicant Checklist, the Expungement Checklist, and the Non-Criminal Justice Checklist. The Applicant Checklist is used by individuals applying for a job, license, or permit that requires a criminal history background check. The Expungement Checklist is used for the purpose of requesting the removal of a criminal record from the Virginia State Police database. The Non-Criminal Justice Checklist is used when an individual requires a background check that does not require the use of the Virginia State Police database.
